Team XMSTART has an opening for Mission Protection Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services in Springfield, VA
Primary Responsibilities:
Must provide technical expertise on space protection and space situational awareness
Provide technical leadership for coordinating MOD mission protection requirements and space protection doctrine
Collaborate with SETA team members, development contractors, and customer forums
Effectively communicate and interface with engineers from various contractors and government organizations; prepare and present briefings to customer on technical topics when requested
Understand NRO organization and subordinate Directorates and Offices
Understand and operate in a dynamic, multi-organizational environment
Provide Systems Engineering and Integration of Mission Protections new programs
Required Qualifications
Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Poly
Knowledge of satellite GEOINT and SIGINT constellation, spacecraft orbit, and ground terminal characteristics
Orbital mechanics experience (i.e. preferably knowledgeable with tools like System Toolkit (STK) or SOAP)
Strong knowledge of system engineering fundamentals.
Direct experience with Mission Operations Directorate and site operations
Experience with requirements development, interface control documentation, technical specification review, architecture and CONOPS development , and roadmaps
Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or relevant field
At least 13 years of relevant technical experience
